also, we’re still busy planning the fundraising event for may 2nd. mark your calenders! not only will this event raise money for the garden, but it’s going to be a great opportunity to check out tons of local artists and musicians, hang out with the community, and meet new people. if you’re interested in helping advertise by hanging up flyers around town, email us at raytowncommunitygarden@gmail.com and we’ll send you the flyer.

Seed Starting

7 Mar

So today we realized, once again, what a huge undertaking this is!  We have 60 different types of plants, and several varieties of most of them.  We have twelve different kinds of tomatoes.  As exciting as today was, it just made the project that much more daunting.  Our goal is to start enough seeds not only for the garden, but also to sell.  We converted the storage room in my house to be a grow room.  Trying to make enough surface space for all of the seeds in itself has been a challenge.  Here’s where we’re at so far.

We even have a new friend!

We even have a new friend!

This just includes peppers, lettuce, cauliflower, cabbage broccoli, brussel sprouts, herbs, and eggplant.  That is such a small fraction of what we have.  We still need more egg crates or seed trays. Thanks everyone!
